October Events on the Outer Banks

October is one of the best times of the year on the Outer Banks. The weather is so pleasant and there are great activities to enjoy.

Here are some upcoming events on the Outer Banks:

The 9th Annual Outer Banks International Wine and Beer Festival will take place on October 15 and 16 from 12-5pm at Native Vine in Point Harbor.  There are more than 50 wines and beers to taste, great food, live music and local artists.  There will be a special reserve tasting of wines from Santa Duc (Rhone Valley, France) that will include Santa Duc’s Gigondas Prestige Cuvee 2004 and 2005, as well as other wines from one of the Rhone’s top producers.  So far, bands include The Houndog Family Bank (a must see) on Saturday, and Mercy Creek and Ask Fester on Sunday!   Tickets can be purchased and printed online here!   

2nd Annual Fishing Tournament Super Slam
October 14 – 16

October 21 – 24
 International centennial celebration of Orville Wright’s 1911 world record glider flight that gave birth to modern soaring. Two independent Wright 1911 Glider Builder Teams will display their gliders, one at Wright Brothers National Memorial and one at Jockey’s Ridge State Park. >more info
