Outer Banks Fishing Pier – Jeannette’s Pier Opening

Jennette’s Pier is scheduled to reopen May 21 after a long downtime since it was damaged by Hurricane Isabelle in 2003. The new state-of-the-art, LEED certified,wind-powered, 1,000-foot concrete pier and 16,000 square-foot pier house will reemerge as a one-of-a-kind educational ocean fishing pier. The North Carolina Aquarium operated complex will feature educational classrooms and programs, alternative energy demonstrations, live animal exhibits, meeting facilities, a snack & tackle shop, and a host of other displays and features for good family fun….with great fishing too! Nags Head Inn is located just a short walk up the beach from Jennette’s Pier so it is a great place to stay and be close to the new pier.
