Thanksgiving is a great time to visit us on the outer banks. The fishing is usually fantastic this time of the year with rockfish, trout, and blues. We are expecting good weather so perhaps enjoy some beachcombing on our fantastic oceanfront. Some other events happening over thanksgiving are:

Hangin' With Santa
November 25 - 26
Kitty Hawk Kites (mp 12.5), Nags Head. Children can have their free photo taken with Santa in a demonstration Hang Glider Friday and Saturday, set up at Kitty Hawk Kites in Nags Head. This event is free, so bring your cameras!!

Kites with Lights
November 26th
Jockey's Ridge State Park (mp 12.5), Nags Head. Watch the night sky magically transform as kites with lights glow in the sky atop Jockey's Ridge State Park.

October is one of the best times of the year on the Outer Banks. The weather is so pleasant and there are great activities to enjoy.

Here are some upcoming events on the Outer Banks:

The 9th Annual Outer Banks International Wine and Beer Festival will take place on October 15 and 16 from 12-5pm at Native Vine in Point Harbor. There are more than 50 wines and beers to taste, great food, live music and local artists. There will be a special reserve tasting of wines from Santa Duc (Rhone Valley, France) that will include Santa Duc's Gigondas Prestige Cuvee 2004 and 2005, as well as other wines from one of the Rhone's top producers. So far, bands include The Houndog Family Bank (a must see) on Saturday, and Mercy Creek and Ask Fester on Sunday! Tickets can be purchased and printed online here!
